Why Cloud Platform Services are a key enabler for innovation at speed

Learn how Cloud Platform Services (PaaS) provide a huge advantage to companies to enable them to operate as a Digital Business, one that continually invents and adapts in response to change. Although SaaS takes the biggest chunk of the Public Cloud Service market, it is PaaS that is expected to grow the fastest over the next two years. One of the key reasons for this is that by modernising applications to run in the cloud and leverage platform services, it is much more technically and commercially feasible to sustain continuous change to adapt to market needs, continually improve customer experience and open up new revenue opportunities.

Why most documents don’t emigrate

Most of the Document and Records Management (EDRMS) projects that I’ve worked on, or have had visibility to, have all worked on the premise that they needed to migrate their old documents from legacy systems (usually shared network folders) on to the new EDRMS. This has led to inevitable comparisons to the dotcom crash back in 2000-2001. From my perspective, although I can appreciate the tremendous value and opportunities that many of … Continue reading Social Media company valuations – am I missing something?

Future of ECM – the next 5 years

I've recently written a series of posts on the future of ECM, identifying 13 trends that I’ve observed: Making the “E” in Enterprise Content Management actually mean something ... looks at how the 'E' in ECM is starting to truly mean something with the trend around unifying content between ECM and enterprise business applications. The … Continue reading Future of ECM – the next 5 years
